About the artists, in both English and Nynorsk below.

ENG:

Tone Hulbækmo, from Tolga in Østerdalen, is a multi-instrumentalist with an eclectic musical palette. She is a songwriter and plays the harp, lyre, and organ. Her repertoire ranges from European medieval and Renaissance music to Norwegian folk music, as well as melodies and songs for children. These are not bound by any particular genre, but are united by the powerful enthusiasm and desire to communicate from which everything springs. Particularly relevant for us is the Norwegian harp, a tradition that disappeared more than 200 years ago. Together with Sverre Jensen, Hulbækmo has breathed new life into this tradition. Last year, Harpedåm was released on Heilo Records. The album contains exclusively music performed on the Norwegian harp.

Hans Fredrik Jacobsen is no less of a multi-instrumentalist, playing various flutes, guitar, two-stringed flute, and saxophone. He has appeared as a guest musician and soloist on more than 100 releases and has collaborated with everyone from Sissel Kyrkjebø to Erik Bye. He also stands very well on his own, and perhaps several people in Stavanger remember a somewhat legendary concert in the botanical garden on a June day in 2022. It was Hans Fredrik Jacobsen who played authentic willow flutes. Today’s performance will also focus primarily on the willow flute.

NOR:
