Blackout poetry is a form of found poetry, creation through the act of destruction. The poet blocks out words in existing texts, using erasure to create new worlds. By circling the words that speak to you and blacking out everything else, slowly, a poem forms.
In this workshop, we will slow down and listen closely to the page, playing with what we find to create new meaning or something unexpected. Listening to the words and phrases that speak to us, and finding others to build poetry.
We warmly invite you to join us – to create and listen, and if you wish, to share.
When: April 21, 2026
