Takayama in the Gifu prefecture of Japan is at the heart of Japanese woodcrafts. This is where, during our Japanese "pilgrimage", we found these hand-sculpted cubic vases made of various Japanese wood in Hida by Keiichi. The interior is coated with a special tree sap to make it waterproof. A single cornflower, apple blossoms, or buttercup will be enough to bring this back to life.
