DAIYO was established in the Takashima county of Shiga Prefecture in 1914. The artisanship has been passed down across four generations, polished and refined as time passes.

This is an excerpt from DAIYO's webpage that I loved reading: "The space lit by a Japanese candles is boundless beyond your imagination. A cozy family meal around the dining table, a soak in a warm bath, a contemplative time on the bed as the day draws to an end. The Japanese candle is the best companion in any scenario. The slow burning of the Japanese candle is gentle, yet warms and lights up your life form within."

The iron stand is a simple and charming piece suitable for smaller candles, such as the warosokus that we have in stock. Each piece is handmade by Japanese artisans, so you may expect slightly different shapes than pictured.
