With roots in early 20th century Japan, hojicha is a green tea that is roasted to produce toasty & caramel-like flavor. This variety is grown on the Chota Tingrai tea estate. Brew it hot or cold!!!
single origin: Hojicha | Upper Assam, India | Chota Tingrai Estate. This is a women-run tea estate that prioritizes sustainable growing methods and the welfare of the local tea growing communities.
hot brew: 3g or one tablespoon of loose tea leaves to 230 ml water at a temperature of 80 degrees C for 2-3 minutes. Makes 10 cups from one canister. You may use a metal tea infuser, a strainer, or a french press.
cold brew: 12g of loose tea leaves to one liter of tap water (or perhaps a bit less) and leave overnight in the fridge for 8 - 12 hours. You may experiment with times to see what works best for you in terms of flavor intensity.
