Delia Wieser (innovation consultant and mum of 4-year-old Matei) and Katharina Griesbacher (designer and mum of 3-year-old Theo and baby Noah) are the motor behind the Vienna-based Mama Matters. As their name alludes to, their ethos is to bring women experiencing motherhood into the spotlight, empowering them to practice self-care, to feel confident and stay healthy especially in the fragile months after having given birth. Studies say that women who are informed and educated about the postpartum time and its effects before giving birth have a 50 % lower risk to develop postpartum depression.
