Pansy. Oh Pansy! How we have waited for your arrival. And finally, you are here and we could not be more excited. Pansy was born from a need for comfy dreamy ethical undies. In the summer of 2012, Laura Schoorl and Rachel Corry were driving from San Francisco to Santa Barbara for dinner with Rachel's parents and got to talking. They had both been dreaming of the ideal underwear: minimal, sturdy, beautiful, made-in-the-USA underwear you can feel good wearing. They spent the next few hours of their drive imagining making the perfect underwear.
The organic cotton used in production is grown in Texas and milled in North Carolina. The natural rubber/cotton elastic is made in Rhode Island. The underwear is garment dyed with non-toxic fiber-reactive dyes in a factory in Novato, CA. They use organic cotton thread and woven organic cotton twill tags. They are a really small team of two, Laura Schoorl and Megan Ericksen, who do everything from production to shipping to customer service to social media!
This is the Pansy French Cut underwear: light-weight organic cotton high-rise, super flattering yet comfortable, and will not dig into your skin or private areas. That is the beauty of Pansy's undergarments. They are so comfortable you will immediately notice. The French cut has a very relaxed fit and if you are in-between sizes or prefer a more snug fit, consider sizing down. The second to last image in the carousel shows the size chart.
care: please see the last image in the carousel for a cool overview of how to care for your Pansy garments, or check out the detailed care map here. In summary, wash by hand or on a gentle cycle (we like ecological cleansers), hang to dry and avoid dryers as much as possible because they shorten the lifetime of your garments, keep away from direct strong sunlight.
Made in the US of 100% USA grown organic cotton and natural rubber elastic (this elastic is never seen and is always inside the seams of undies and bras). The thread used is also organic cotton. Pansy garments are fully compostable.
