Iris Hantverk was born in the 1900s in Stockholm as a small brush manufacturer. Now they are 17 employees and the owners, Sara and Richard, are continuing the tradition. Their core remains the brush binding manufacturing at Sandsborgsvägen, Enskede – where 6 visually impaired crafts-folk from different cultures make brushes according to an old Swedish tradition. They also work with visually impaired craftsmen in Estonia.
The wet face brush is made of oil-treated white birch and horsehair. It is great for cleansing, removing everyday impurities and makeup, and also gently exfoliates, buffing off rough dead skin cells. It makes the skin softer and keeps the pores clean, so that your skin can then better absorb your skincare products. Use the brush wet with your facial cleansing soap or lotion to remove makeup. Use very light and gentle circular movements, avoiding the eye and mouth areas. At the first uses the brush might feel harder against the skin but that will ease after a while once the skin gets used to the massage. Start by cleaning/massaging less sensitive areas first, like the forehead, chin and nose. Rinse the brush in lukewarm water so it softens.
OBS! If you have sensitive skin or allergies to fibers and hairs, consult your skin care therapist or dermatologist before using the brush.
measures: 17.5 x 4.5 x 3 cm
care: by rinsing the brush after use and letting it dry on the bristles to avoid the water flowing through the wood. Clean the brush by putting a small amount of your cleansing cream, mild shampoo or soap in your palm and circulate the brush, then rinse and let dry. If the wood of the brush starts to feel dry, you can oil it with boiled cold pressed linseed oil, or some other oil suitable for wood.
