Linda Bredenbekk is a self-taught ceramic artist who lives in Jæren, Norway. She shared with us that she finds magic in enjoying a cup of coffee sipped from a unique handmade cup. Linda values the individuality of each of these handmade products, who they speaks to and where they go. Linda loves animals, music, art and food and she appreciates minimalism -- a theme also present in the clean lines of her work. She prefers deep conversations over small talk and she notices the ambiance more than the physical things. It is her intuition that has guided her onto this path of working with clay, and the itch in her fingers to be touching, reshaping it. Isn't that beautiful?
A ceramic "glass" is what this is, with the appropriate quotation marks around glass of course. The raw, sandy texture of this cup is very tactile. Linda was so excited to tell us about this particular creation because the way its patina changes as it interacts with the tannins from the wine. And did you know that clay vessels have been used to ferment and age wine since ancient times? Of course, this particular vessel can be used for other hot or cold drinks. You may choose to sip (responsibly!) from it any other liquid your heart desires.
Since each piece is individually handmade, measurements may vary. Each piece is unique and can differ in size and shape, and the colors of the glaze can vary from piece to piece.
