Collection: mama matters

Delia Wieser (innovation consultant and mum of 4-year-old Matei) and Katharina Griesbacher (designer and mum of 3-year-old Theo and baby Noah) are the motor behind the Vienna-based Mama Matters. As their name alludes to, their ethos is to bring women experiencing motherhood into the spotlight, empowering them to practice self-care, to feel confident and stay healthy especially in the fragile months after having given birth. Giving birth to a new identity can be as demanding as giving birth to a baby, yet society and healthcare systems mainly focus on how the baby develops. Studies say that women who are informed and educated about the postpartum time and its effects before giving birth have a 50 % lower risk to develop postpartum depression. Their products support the healing process and improve mental wellbeing throughout the third and fourth trimester, and are made of organic, clean and environmentally-kind ingredients.

Their journal entries, like this one on how can we help new mommas, are inspiring and good for everyone to read, whether expecting or not.
