collection: menstruation

Conversations have been shared lately around the topic of menstruation, a part of life and the necessary condition when it comes to creating life. Yet, we talk so little about it, and to be honest, we know too little about our own bodies until well into adulthood. Some related topics remain taboo for many of us for too long. Let us break those patterns, together: menstruation, bleeding, period, spotting, discharge, menopause, perimenopause, fertility, anxiety, intimacy, PMDD, PMS, endometriosis! And the list goes on.

Take a few moments to reflect. What does your period feel like to you? How do those around you experience it, and you through it?

As of late, we are learning more about the impacts of the products we have been accustomed to using during our monthly cycles. And it isn't a good picture of the past, and in unfortunate ways, the present for many women, transgender, and non-binary people. We hope you will reconsider your choice of menstrual products toward healthier and more environmentally friendly alternatives in light of the new research (which is, I would say, rather late to this party). The menstrual products we carry are sourced directly from the producer, SAALT, and in them we trust that the choices lie now in our hands. And if you choose to bleed into a seashell by your favorite body of water, so be it. Judgment does not belong here.
