Books are a way of living through the experiences of others, both real and imagined. In many ways, books offer the opportunity to travel through time, through space, through consciousness. They teach and they ground and we would not be the same without them. We cannot help but wonder how we would be different today if the Great Library of Alexandra, one of the most significant collections of writing in the world, a “universal library”, would have been cared for.
